WEEDS!

My DH says that there

were so many weeds

I could get arrested!

ALL summer I have been supposed to tackle this area. It is an odd area. I still don't really have a plan for it. The area is hard to get to and I have let the abundant rain water and the sun nourish the weeds since May when my Sister came to town and cleared some of them out.

So this is what I dealt with today. It was a team effort with DD's and DH (thankfully) chipping in. I pulled weeds, DH moved a couple of really heavy yard arts and helped me put down some fiber screen, plus DD's moved several bags of mulch and one even helped spread the mulch. He discovered that our fountain was cracked and fixed it. I figured the motor was ruined. We were in luck since it is now working great.

74 Degrees and 11knot SW Wind

It's only noon and this day feels like a long dark winters day!

My DD was trying to download something for homework last night. She didn't get what she wanted downloaded, went to bed with the remark I don't know what I have done....

Now she wouldn't let me help her. She gave me the roll of the eyes when I was standing over her for a second to see what she was doing. I do believe she downloaded everything on the worldwide web! Except what she wanted. This morning as I was driving her to school we were laughing about it. She says "there's even a dolphin screensaver!" She'll be rolling those eyes in the back of her head for awhile because DM will not let this go. I was able to tell everyone the temperature and when it changed a point plus the direction of the wind and humidity! Hey, I have to rub it in while I can...

I have spent the morning deleted and uninstalling, plus I do think there are still a few items that I am not sure about.

All this led to a good cleaning of the computer programs after. I have been meaning to do this for awhile. Especially the more time I spend online, the more I know it is vital that regular checkups be done much sooner than when DD makes a mistake.

HECTIC WEEKEND!

Getting to know our exchange student is awkward right now. She is a lovely person, I just didn't remember how hard it is to realize when someone doesn't understand you. New Member Of Our Family From Brazil

Our exchange student arrived yesterday! Over the summer my DD and I asked DH if he would mind us hosting an exchange student for 5 months. Surprise to us, he said OK. So yesterday we picked her up from the airport. She will start school Monday. She is a beautiful young Brazilian. DD and I are so excited to have her here.

Coupon Swap at Local Library

I had the most fun today. Our local library branch (Louisville Southwest) had a Coupon Swap today. I wasn't sure what to expect before I arrived. I don't usually clip coupons anymore before I work up the deals I am going to do. So I quickly clipped a few and grabbed a couple whole inserts as I was walking out the door.

It was great. I loved meeting fellow couponers and exchanging stories. We talked about past deals, current deals and cashiers (GOOD and bad.)

It was fun!

What's On The Table (Wk 8/10 - 8/16)

So- the ongoing saga of trying to plan a weeks meals, even if they are simple.
Last week we were able to get Friday, Saturday and Sundays meals correct. Monday my DD had friends over so I ordered Pizza. Tuesday, DD's friend was still here because we had flooding and DD was craving White Castle, so that's what we had. Wednesday I veered and did the Arby's deal and Thursday was a total loss in planning and I can't remember what we had. I am starting again on a diet (DD is rolling her eyes) this week. Hopefully, with a very busy week planning will help that diet!

What's On The Table (Wk 8/3 - 8/9)

Our household struggles to stay away from the fast food restaurants or any restaurant. I am a sucker when my DD says can we have ??? for dinner and we are out driving around. It is so easy to just pull in the drive-though a pick something up and have dinner solved. We have been doing much better. Our problem now if variety. I have never been much of a cook. So I decided that I will let you know "What's On The Table" each week. Hopefully you will see me grow in variety and nutritional meals. I started yesterday with asking the DD what she wanted to eat this week. Very simple but here it is.

I haven't been inside a Walgreen's in 2-3 weeks! It looks like they have some good deals this week. So will see what they have and report back.

I am hoping to get all of my shopping done Monday. I have so much to get done for my son's wedding rehearsal dinner, but before that we are hosting an exchange student from Brazil. She will be here in less than 2 weeks! And I am Hosting A DOG PARTY with Chef Michael's from HouseParty!

CVS - Electrasol and Pampers

Saturday I decided to see if I could get the Sunday deals on Saturday at my CVS. The manager said if the signs were up then the deal was going. So I ended up getting my 5 Electrasols (sorry to anyone else, that is all they had) and 2 Pampers so I had more out of pocket then planned on. But it was still a great deal.

Purchased:
2 Pampers cost = 2/$20
5 Electrasol cost = 2/9 ($22.50)

$20.85 ECBs (I had ended up with a $15 ECB so this deal worked OK)

The Electrasol ended up .50 each and I spent $12.54 total for the diapers. I have had better deals on diapers but these were the 1s which I have had a hard time finding when the deals are on. If anyone is wondering why I need diapers-I have three girls pregnant or just delivered!
