Great CVS Trip 9/28

I am still looking for the Reinventing Beauty Magazine...I even took in a picture of the Magazine to show. The cashier today knew exactly what it was but she couldn't find it. I told her I have been looking for this magazine for months and haven't found it. Hopefully they may get it in soon!

So then I went to the Pharmacy to ask them about the $100 coupon book. They had it there but they haven't been given any instructions on it so they wouldn't give it out. Their shots don't start until October 13th and the letter in the box says that the coupons don't start until October 1. That is why he wouldn't give me one.

Next stop was to the checkout, I would have loved to have gotten more of the Bounce Dryer Bars but they only had three. Actually was surprised that they still had three. So this is what I bought:

Personally, I just haven't had the time lately to do Walgreen's. And to be really honest--I let a few RR expire and haven't wanted to keep up with getting new ones. I never thought I would agree with CVS shoppers - it really is cheaper and less of a hassle! Now- I love most of my WAGS cashiers and the deals but it IS easier to roll deals at my CVS and when life gets busy and you don't have too much time to shop(spend those RR's) you don't have to worry as much about ECB's expiring as quickly as RR's. So with that said, I stopped into the new Walgreen's down the street and picked up a few things. If I just hadn't gone down the book isle....that highlander in his kilt!! I haven't read for a few months and I love Karen Hawkins series on Highlander Lords.

Sears has released a coupon HERE for $10 off any junior fashion purchase. There is no minimum purchase required, so it should be fairly easy to pick up something for free. This coupon is valid 9/15/09 through 11/14/09. If you receive Seventeen, the current issue also had a coupon for $10 off any junior fashion purchase. It is right inside the front cover.

I Used the Discover Card Coupon!

So I made a quick trip to Kroger last night. Just wanted lettuce, cucumbers and some fruit. I wanted salad with dinner (the lasagna.) DD stayed in car. I promised her it would be a quick trip.

I go in and get the fruits and veg tables, then decide I am going to look for a rebate booklet that I haven't been able to find yet. But time was still good, it hadn't taken long. I get to the register and am looking for my Kroger Card then realize I left my money in the car. UGH!

I was frantically looking through my purse for money that I knew I didn't have. I found the Kroger Card and saw my Discover Card. Aw haw!

Now-- I have been trying my best not to charge anything on it but when there is a coupon for $2 off just for using the card I was much more relieved and usage of the card seemed acceptable because I had a coupon!

Husband will die when I tell him this story.

I must admit that it was her that brought it to my attention. We had just finished watching Freaky Friday and she looked at me and said " today is the 13th." Well, my reply was "it's not Friday!" Boy did I feel bad that we hadn't realized that she had been here a month already. The time has gone by fast. Of course, we have been very busy. My hope is that life will become a little less fast for awhile. Our exchange student would like a little more activity than we have had -- and believe me -- we have had some activity!

She is used to being able to just catch a bus and go see her friends very quickly. Even though we have a bus system here, I have tried to explain that it really isn't the same thing. Her remark today was that in her city in Brazil she can walk to the mall!

Having her here has been a nice change. She knows English fairly well, and can read English even better. What we are working on are things like idioms. The first word that I was asked what it meant was Duh! I asked her if the kids at school said that and was told yes but that my daughter and I say it! She is right, we do. The next one we still really like is when she was asked in class by a boy to "duck." He told her to "duck" a few times before another student demonstrated what she should do ( the boy was trying to through something in the trash.) We all get laughs over that one. In discussion we do believe he didn't know she was an exchange student so didn't realize that she may not know what something means.

Well, I just wanted to acknowledge her month her in the United States! She has been asked to the homecoming dance in two weeks....

Hi. It's been too long that I have been offline! I didn't even have a minute to check email.

My youngest son got married this weekend. The rehearsal dinner was at my home and it was lovely. Will share more pictures as time goes. Ignore the date on the pictures--my sisters camera isn't correct on the date. But the pictures are lovely.

WEEDS!

My DH says that there

were so many weeds

I could get arrested!

ALL summer I have been supposed to tackle this area. It is an odd area. I still don't really have a plan for it. The area is hard to get to and I have let the abundant rain water and the sun nourish the weeds since May when my Sister came to town and cleared some of them out.

So this is what I dealt with today. It was a team effort with DD's and DH (thankfully) chipping in. I pulled weeds, DH moved a couple of really heavy yard arts and helped me put down some fiber screen, plus DD's moved several bags of mulch and one even helped spread the mulch. He discovered that our fountain was cracked and fixed it. I figured the motor was ruined. We were in luck since it is now working great.
